How to play4

Before you start

Put 6 dice on a plate at each station and a wrapped or fresh craft stick beside it. Players stand.

  1. 1Hold the stick between your teeth, sticking straight out in front of you.
  2. 2With one hand, place dice one at a time onto the end of the stick to build a tower.
  3. 3If any dice fall, start the tower again from the plate.
  4. 4Stack 5 dice (or all 6 for the hard version) and hold the tower for 3 seconds within the minute to win.
What to say3
  1. 1“Stick in the teeth, one hand only — build me a tower!”
  2. 2“Don't laugh! If you laugh, it falls!”
  3. 3“That's five! Hold it… hold it… three seconds!”
Host tips3
  • The audience will try to make the player laugh, and they will succeed. That's the show — but have the judge watch the clock, not the face.
  • Thin popsicle sticks bend and the dice slide off. Buy the wide tongue-depressor sticks.
  • Dice that have rounded corners slide. Square-cornered casino-style dice stack far more easily.
Variants2
  • Easy mode

Stack 3 dice. Good for a warm-up or for younger teens.

  • No-look

Players may only use the hand opposite to the one they write with.

Safety2
  • Hygiene: a new stick for every player, thrown away after use. Wipe the dice between players.
  • Dice are small enough to choke on. Keep spare dice away from toddlers watching, and do not play with children under 6.
