How to play4

Before you start

Line up 3–5 chairs facing the audience. Keep the cookies in their pack until each player sits down so nothing gets handled twice.

  1. 1Player sits, tilts their head back, and the host places one cookie flat in the middle of their forehead.
  2. 2On go, the player moves the cookie down to their mouth using only face muscles and head movement. No hands.
  3. 3If the cookie falls, the host places a fresh one on the forehead and the player starts again.
  4. 4First player to get the cookie into their mouth, or the only one to do it within 60 seconds, wins.
What to say3
  1. 1“Heads back, cookies on — no hands from here on!”
  2. 2“Look at those faces! Wiggle, wiggle, it's moving!”
  3. 3“It's past the nose! Somebody's about to eat their prize!”
Host tips3
  • Run three to five players at once. One person alone pulling faces feels like a spotlight; a row of them feels like a race, and nobody is the joke.
  • Soft or crumbly cookies break on the forehead and leave crumbs in eyes. Firm, flat cookies (sandwich cookies, gingerbread, Marie biscuits) work; chocolate-coated ones melt under stage lights.
  • Players with glasses or long fringes fail instantly. Ask them to take glasses off and clip hair back before you start the clock, not after the first drop.
Variants2
  • Two-cookie stack

Place two cookies on top of each other. Both must reach the mouth. Good as a final round.

  • Standing

Players stand instead of sitting. Harder, because they cannot lean back as far.

Safety3
  • Food allergies: check for wheat, nuts, dairy and egg before choosing the cookie, and have a gluten-free option ready.
  • One cookie in the mouth at a time — never let players chase a second cookie before swallowing. Tilting the head far back while eating is a choking risk, so have them sit upright to chew.
  • Hand out cookies straight from the pack; a cookie that touched one face never goes on another.
