Before you start
Prepare 15–20 clean questions. Mark the left side of the room as option A and the right as option B.
- 1The host reads a question: “Would you rather never eat rice again, or never use your phone on weekends?”
- 2Everyone walks to the side of their answer. No middle allowed.
- 3The host asks one or two people from each side to defend their choice in a sentence.
- 4Move on to the next question after about a minute.

What to say3
- 1“No middle ground — you have to pick a side!”
- 2“Left for A, right for B… move, move, move!”
- 3“Wow, look at that split! Someone from the small side — defend yourself!”
Host tips3
- Questions found online are often gross or suggestive. Write your own or read the whole list beforehand with your boss and lola in mind.
- Avoid questions that split people along religion, politics or money — the room divides for real and the mood drops.
- Lopsided questions where 95% pick one side are dead air. Use choices that are both appealing, or both mildly bad.
Variants2
Seated
Players hold up one hand or two, or vote in a poll on their phones, when walking is not practical.
Elimination
Before each question, the host secretly picks a “safe” side. Players on the wrong side sit down until one remains.
Safety1
- If the room is crowded, the dash between sides causes bumps — use the seated variant with seniors or small kids.

If this one dies early3
- Desert IslandEach person names the three things they would bring to a desert island and why; the group debates the best kit.
- The Big Wind BlowsThe person in the middle calls “The big wind blows for anyone who…” and everyone it applies to must race to a new seat.
- Most Likely ToThe host reads a 'who is most likely to…' prompt and on the count of three everyone points at the person who fits best.
