Before you start
Pairs stand on an opened newspaper sheet spread flat. Space pairs well apart.
- 1Dance while the music plays, both feet on the paper.
- 2When the music stops, fold the paper in half.
- 3Any foot touching the floor and the pair is out. Last pair standing wins.
What to say3
- 1“Dance while the music plays — but don't step off the newspaper!”
- 2“Stop! Fold the newspaper — in half!”
- 3“Only two pairs left! Can you still fit?”
Host tips3
- Check the room first. This game involves close contact and carrying — fine for a group of friends, risky for a mixed corporate crowd with new hires.
- Offer an opt-out that is not embarrassing: ask for volunteers rather than drafting pairs.
- Stop folding at a quarter sheet. Past that it stops being funny and starts being a fall.
Variants2
Carrying allowed
One partner may carry the other. This is where it gets loud.
Trios
Three to a sheet. Much harder, much funnier.
Safety3
- Clear the floor of bags and cables — people will stumble.
- No carrying on tiled or wet floors.
- Skip entirely for conservative or church audiences.

If this one dies early4
- Trip to JerusalemWalk around the chairs while the music plays; grab a seat when it stops. One chair fewer each round.
- Stop DanceEveryone dances while the music plays; when it stops, the host shouts a command and the last person to obey is out.
- LimboDance under a bar without touching it or the floor; the bar drops each round until one player is left.
- Dance-OffTeams take turns dancing to surprise songs in the middle of the floor; the crowd's cheers decide who goes through.
