How to play4

Before you start

Cut each box front into 16 equal rectangles and seal each set in an envelope. Put one envelope face down in front of each seated player.

  1. 1On go, open the envelope and tip the pieces out.
  2. 2Reassemble the box front face up on the table.
  3. 3Raise your hand when finished; the judge checks every piece is in place.
  4. 4First correct finish wins, or fastest time under 60 seconds.
What to say3
  1. 1“Sixteen pieces, one minute — rebuild that box!”
  2. 2“Look at the edges first! Find the corners!”
  3. 3“Done? Hands up — let the judge check!”
Host tips3
  • Cut puzzles from different boxes and players complain that theirs was harder. Use identical boxes, or the same printed image for everyone.
  • Uneven cuts give the answer away — pieces only fit one way. Rule the grid with a pencil before cutting.
  • Quiet game for a calm moment or for seniors. Put it between two loud games, not at the start.
Variants2
  • Company edition

Print the company logo, a team photo or the event poster and cut that up instead.

  • Hard mode

Cut into 25 pieces, or flip the pieces face down so players can't see the picture until placed.
